Alongside his visual art practice, Senad Nurkanović is an electronic music producer performing under the artist name Phage and a co-founder of the international audiovisual project Fa11out.

Fa11out combines Drum & Bass production, digital visuals, and multimedia live performance. The project gained international recognition through collaborations with established producers and record labels within the electronic music scene.

As a producer and live performer, Senad has appeared at numerous electronic music festivals and events, including EXIT Festival, where he presented an original audiovisual performance with Fa11out.

His productions have received support from numerous internationally recognized DJs and producers within the Neurofunk and Drum & Bass scene, contributing to the international visibility of electronic music originating from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

MUSIC PRODUCTION

Cultural Mission & Site-Specific Audiovisual Events

From its beginnings, Fa11out was conceived not only as a music project, but as a cultural and audiovisual initiative aimed at developing an independent Drum & Bass and rave culture in Tuzla and the wider region. The project was driven by the idea of bringing the energy and visual language of British rave culture into the very different social and architectural context of post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina.

One of the central ideas was to transform neglected, abandoned, and damaged urban spaces into temporary cultural environments. Instead of treating these locations simply as ruins, Fa11out used them as visual and acoustic environments in which electronic music, projection, light, digital imagery, and live performance could create new meanings. The contrast between the raw architecture of post-war urban spaces and the futuristic intensity of Drum & Bass became an important part of the project's artistic identity.

This approach turned events into site-specific audiovisual experiences rather than conventional club nights. A notable example was the 2013 Occupation of Kino Mladost, when Fa11out and a group of young creatives entered the abandoned cinema and transformed the space through a film screening and electronic music event. The project demonstrated the group's interest in reclaiming neglected urban architecture through contemporary culture and collective artistic action.

Fa11out also played an important role in building the Drum & Bass scene in Tuzla. From 2010 onward, the duo worked as promoters of electronic music, organizing a series of events designed to introduce international Drum & Bass culture to local audiences, support emerging artists, and create opportunities for regional exchange. Contemporary coverage described their activities as contributing to the growth of Tuzla's electronic music scene and supporting young people involved in electronic music.

Among the project's most significant events was the 2015 Bad Taste Night, which brought members of the legendary British Drum & Bass collective Bad Company UK to Tuzla for the first major event of its kind in the city. The event connected Tuzla directly with one of the foundational movements of the UK Drum & Bass scene and represented an important moment in the development of the local culture.

Fa11out's cultural work therefore operated on several levels: introducing international electronic music to a new audience, creating platforms for local and regional artists, transforming unconventional spaces through audiovisual art, and establishing a dialogue between British rave culture and the cultural memory of a post-war Bosnian city.

The result was a distinctive form of site-specific audiovisual expression, in which abandoned architecture became a stage, electronic music became a social language, and visual art became a means of reinterpreting spaces marked by neglect, history, and change.

In 2019, Fa11out performed at EXIT Festival, one of the largest and most internationally recognised music festivals in Southeast Europe, as part of the festival programme celebrating the 10th anniversary of UKF, the influential global drum & bass and bass-music platform.

Fa11out appeared alongside internationally recognised artists including Chase & Status and Dub FX, representing Bosnia and Herzegovina within an international drum & bass programme.
