SKINLAB TATTOO STUDIO

Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina | Established 2017

Skinlab Tattoo Studio was founded by Senad Nurkanović in 2017 in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as an independent creative art studio.

The establishment of Skinlab also reflected Nurkanović's involvement in Tuzla's wider independent cultural and electronic music scene. The studio emerged from the same creative environment surrounding the Fa11out audiovisual project and the local Drum & Bass community.

The opening of Skinlab in July 2017 was accompanied by an international electronic music event featuring renowned Drum & Bass artist Optiv from UK. Contemporary coverage presented the studio as a meeting point for artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina with an ambition to encourage young creatives and interdisciplinary artistic exchange.

The studio was subsequently registered as a traditional and old craft under the ownership of Senad Nurkanović. Official City of Tuzla documentation identifies the business premises and describes the activity as artistic creation
